Feng Tank Enhanced by dangeruss Feng Tank Enhanced by dangeruss
A rework of the 3DS Max model [link] I created from a tank design by Feng Zhu. [link] I decided it was too narrow in width and lacked enough weaponry, so I widened it and added a Vulcan cannon to the roof, plus a ton more detail.

Many people (myself included) liked the original sketch quality of the Zhu artwork, so I used a cell shader plug-in and lots of photoshopping to create a similar look.

For higher res desktops, use this image "centered" and set you Desktop color to RGB 214,214,214. Looks great with the ChosenOS skins of recent release.

I love the soft rendered look of this. Did you achieve it in your renderer, or afterward in Photoshop?

It was done mostly in post processing. I rendered a grey scale version in 3D, then placed it under a grey layer on Photoshop to soften the shades. Then the line art was done over the top of those layers.

There are some major flaws:
Machinegun in front can only be moved horizontaly. There is no way anyone can operate that (well, it can be remotly controlled) And there is no visor for driver (or I can't see any)

It's really nicely done, but perhaps almost a bit cluttered for a military machine.
Unless my memory fails me, that C-shaped thing hanging on the front is used to tension tracks, wouldn't be used on an armoured car...
But overall, really nice

Great line work and variety. I like the technical drawing style- using 3D makes it incredibly precise which makes it look even better. :)

I personally think that you could totally perfection it with tiny tips of red or lines.
Grey and red in a tech way. Maybe even red army writing south left or right.

oh yeah i remember seeing this on his site. that guy is so damn good at drawing! he did it with markers and pens, no pencils at all!!!!

There are these really expensive markers which are perfect for this stuff, I think it's what the artist must have used. They get a really smooth even tone that is alot harder to get with a pencil. I wish I had some. Unfortunatley, when I say expensive I mean EXPENSIVE.

I've only seen a set of like 10 of them for 130 dollars. We might be talking about different things, the ones I am talking about are only in grey.
