Artist's Comments
Based on concept art by Malaveldt : [link]
Mike has become my favorite conceptual artist lately. His ideas and art are very inspiring. I wrote him with a request to recreate some of his stuff in 3D and received his blessing, so here's another collaborative work. This is another of his fantastic walking armored creations. While I'm unsure of the benefits of articulated legs, they sure look bad-ass. Modeled 3D Studio MAX over a 4-day period. A lighting pass was rendered in Vray and a line art image was rendered using Illustrate 5.4 plugin for MAX. Colors, additional line work, details and stencils were added in Photoshop. *** COPYRIGHT 2008 Russ Schwenkler & Mike Doscher - Unauthorized duplication, publishing or re-use is strictly prohibited. *** |
