The New Company Car by dangeruss The New Company Car by dangeruss
To celebrate the launch of the new site, we commissioned this custom matte wrapped Bentley Continental GT from Platinum Motorsports (yeah right). The light was just perfect, so I took this (fake) photo outside of our remodeled Mediterranean offices (complete BS).

love this, nicely done makes the car look more of a show car then a sporty tank. by tank i mean it's weight.

anyway i love the description as well. we can always dream at least of having super nice cars. or at least i can. i can't drive so at least there are photos and games.

falloff mapping in the diffuse slot with a dark grey and near black, then very low levels of specularity and reflection. Not hard, really, just did a bunch of small test renders to dial in the look

Holalahulleya - company car indeed :) i gotto switch to your company Mate.

Love the (fake) office parking lot, and even more the (totally not-fake) car!

The only part that is off for me are the orange wheels - too much contrast for my own taste - would prefer something more inline with the darker color theme - understated ... less eye catching.
Any chances of putting more viewpoints on this (fake) car in front of the (fake) office ? :)

I LOVE the matte paintjob. I wanted to get my EvoX painted in matte black, but they wanted $13k to do it.

thirteen. thousand. dollars. ?! What does a car wrapping place charge to wrap it in vinyl?

Not nearly that much, I don't believe. Well, to paint a car 'right' you need to remove all the doors and the pieces in the doors, and the engine and etc... to paint it like it was 'stock' color. I could do a 'cheaper' paint job, but I'll always know and it would probably bother me.

you can save a bit of money depending on how much you are able to do of it yourself. If you can take care of disassembling it (removing the doors, lights, trim, bumpers and any other panels with seams, as well as all the trim surrounding the glass, otherwise you will have to take the glass out as well) and masking and papering over the interior bits and the wheels then you can save quite a bit off the original price estimate, which probably included doing much of that. Also, vinyl wraps are very convenient and much less expensive than a full four or five coat paint job with dry and cure time, however, wraps tend to be difficult to install and they wear very quickly comparatively. Basically, unlike paint where you can buff scratches out of the clearcoat, with a vinyl wrap, especially a matte finish one, there aren't any particularly good ways of protecting the finish. So expect it to last half as long.

Yeah, I looked into many different solutions and in the end, I figured it just wasn't worth all the trouble and money. I've got enough money under the hood, that I don't need to start dumping money on top of it too :) Since the painting estimate, I was able to do a few things to the car that made me like the paint color a bit more. Tinting windows, getting black matte finish wheels, a few other black accents, etc. So, I'm not sweating it too much anymore. I did worry about getting the whole car done in matte and not being able to 'fix' it without having to repaint the entire part also. I have a matte black motorcycle, and I ran into that issue when I got a scratch on my tank. Thanks for the recommendations and talking with me about it :) Keep up the amazing work!

We at Lamborghini (huuum) are big fans of yours. The other day Filippo Perini showed me your company's website.

However, i'm disheartened to learn that you ordered a Bentley and not a Lamborghini.

*although fake, this wishful thinking is motivating :P *

I wouldn't mind taking it for a spin...

Nice render. Although, I can't get behind the matte paint/wrap fad outside of the computer... Some part of my brain rebels against it in real life. --Like seeing beautiful woman wrapped like a mummy.
