Mike has become my favorite conceptual artist lately. His ideas and art are very inspiring. I wrote him with a request to recreate some of his stuff in 3D and received his blessing, so here's another collaborative work.

Here's a "near-future" piece of construction equipment that utilizes fairly conventional and contemporary technology in an unusual way.

Modeled and rendered in 3D Studio MAX over a 6-day period. Textures were created in Photoshop and procedurally.

but i think the drivers cabin should be more dominant on the working area (on the edge of the front with bigger windows with reverse slopes etc)

Great attention to detail, great texture. My only gripe is the texture (or lake there of) on the leg springs. Great job though.
