What you should do instead (just a hint!)

Type your name in red all over your work and set it to a very low opacity that it is not visible to the naked eye.
If you need proof that the work is yours you put a layer filled with red on top and set it to color burn or color dodge.

The object is not to prove it's my work after the fact, but to discourage it's theft to begin with. Sometimes it's nearly impossible to force its removal from, for instance, a Chinese website where copyrights seem like an alien concept.
